According to John….

John Hockenberry’s book, “Moving Violations – War Zones, Wheelchairs and Declarations of Independence” was one of the first books I read after I was injured. He has an incredible mind that was made even sharper (ok, a bit more comical, too) because of his spinal cord injury and subsequent life redirection on wheels. His book taught me that the world can still be explored and discovered after an injury and, every now and then, when you do it on wheels, society and culture look at you a bit differently than even you might expect. When we met in person, he reaffirmed my thoughts and reminded me that sometimes it’s best to just let the world unfold. Here’s a great talk by John that I wanted to share. Yes, in person he is exactly like this and, to be honest, the world needs more people like John.
